Regenerative leather is being defined right now, and there's an opportunity to shape it. There's no single certification, no agreed definition, no established market signal that tells a farmer or a tannery "do this and you'll get paid more for it." That's not a reason to wait. It's the reason to move. What exists right now is a handful of pilot projects, a lot of goodwill, and an industry trying to figure out what regenerative actually means for a material that is largely a byproduct of animal agriculture. This is where early projects matter. Brands willing to support pilots now and learn from what works and what doesn't can help shape what this sourcing market looks like in practice. The projects that get support today are the ones that will tell the rest of the industry what actually holds up in two or three years.
